3.29.11

This weekend we went to watch Chloe cheer at Nationals. We also decided to spend the time that we weren't at the cheer competition, at Disneyland with Monet. Oh did she have fun. You can imagine since she looked like this at the airport! We traumatized her on the first ride by putting her on Snow White. What a terrible ride. She started crying right after this photo. Poor thing. But we made it up to her and went straight to the princess show, and then straight to the princess shop and bought her a Belle dress, which she hasn't taken off since Saturday. Then we went to the cheer competition and watched Chloe rock it. She did great and they made it to finals.

We went back to Disneyland. Nana bought Monet this balloon, which you can tell by her face was totally awesome.
Then we went to the movie room and let her dance and sing. She was in her own, Disneyland overload - no nap heaven.
I wonder if she liked Disneyland as much as she liked talking on Grandpa's hotel room phone to Grant in the other room?
This is Monet's new best friend, Snow White. They met at breakfast, played for about 45 minutes and then Monet wouldn't leave without giving her a hug and a kiss on the lips.
Monet loved meeting the characters. She hugged, she kissed, she gave high fives. Needless to say we spent more time in Toon Town then ever before.
Sunday afternoon we watched Timpview compete again and they did awesome!
They took 3rd (easily could have been 2nd). They performed perfectly and Chloe didn't have one bobble, so it was exciting to watch. We were all so proud of her.

We all went back to Disneyland and rode rides, watched parades, ate churros (except me, blasted gluten free, (but thank heavens for chocolate covered strawberry's.)) Monet went strong until about midnight.

....

Monday the camera was packed, but we met Joyce at Barneys in Hollywood. We ate and walked around the gorgeous store. Maybe in my next life, I'll belong in a store like that. Until then I'll live through my fashion magazines. (!)

...

We had the best time. It was fun, relaxing and completely enjoyable. I wish we didn't have to leave.

I brought my nice camera to Chloe's Parents Night last night, but of course I forgot the memory card (I seem to do that a lot.) So these cell phone camera shots will have to do. Every time Monet watches Chloe's cheer routine, she is so focused, she looks like drool is about to fall out of her mouth. She hardly blinks.
Chloe, second one in from the left.
Chloe's partner stunt.
Good Luck at Nationals! You'll do great!

Yesterday was the 2nd annual ski day for Karl. Of course grandpa Karl made the sun shine extra bright, softened the snow up for us, even the waiter at the restaurant randomly gave us our lunch for free, which I'm sure was sent from Karl since he never paid for anything. So, yes it was the perfect day. Lets start the party with a dorky helmet shot of myself!

Lunch on the deck.

At 2:00 we took a run down Karl's favorite, Bishops Bowl. In honor of all the lessons he blessed us with, we all lined up and followed, just like we used to with Karl. Pole plant after pole plant, smooth turn after smooth turn. Just how he would have loved it.

We all are counting down the minutes for when Monet can come up skiing with us... especially Riley. He already gave her adorable, tiny Scott goggles.

I must have been tired because I didn't get any photos of the Fiesta, but it was awesome. The food was delicious (thanks Craig & Tena!), the weather was perfect and it was so much fun being around so many people who loved Karl.
And on a side note, Monet fell in love with Isabel. This morning she was talking about her and said to me, "mom, she's so pretty."

Last weekend we went to St George to enjoy the sunshine.
...
Monet loved swimming with Chloe. She loved it so much that now when she gets out of the tub she tells me that she's a good swimmer.
Saturday we watched Larry and Dylan (Chloe's friend who came with us) ride in the first mountain bike race of the season.
Monet waited for grandpa and her new best friend Dylan. She went for a little walk,
Hung out in the sun,
Memorized this book and read it to us all, over and over.
She also cheered on the bikers as they passed by.
Hugs for Grandpa.

Chloe & Dylan.
We had the best time, playing tennis, going on walks, letting Monet play in the park. We ate lots of good food and just enjoyed the nice weather.
