Father's Day
We had a wonderful Father's Day this year. We went to Parc Cafe for breakfast.
Grants first Father's Day.
Grants first Father's Day.
The restaurant was a little crowded so we walked over to Liberty Park to open gifts.
This little story is for Phil and his anti-Village ways.
So I (Hayley) have a Father's Day gift and card for Grant. I ask Wyatt to carry it into the restaurant because my hands were full. So after we finish breakfast and start walking to the park I realize the card is gone. So we look in the restaurant, not there, we look outside (we parked right in front so it couldn't have fallen far). We ask the lady at the counter if anyone turned it in... no...hmmm? So there is this young guy waiting to be seated. We ask him, "did you happen to see a card on the ground here?" he answers, "yeah, some guy came and picked it up?" (Grant and Larry are now all over this). So they say, "well what did he look like? Is he still here?" So the kid explains that it was an overweight, middle aged guy. Then Larry asks if the kid will go in the restaurant and see if the guy is still here. So they go looking for this guy. Well standing outside the door, ready to leave is this guy holding a newspaper with a silver card tucked under his arm with the words, "Grant Milo" written on the front. So Larry walks up to him and says, "that's our card". The thief looks embarrassed, mumbles he was going to turn it in, and awkwardly walks off. So my question is, who in their right mind steals a fathers day card!!! I leave the village for two hours and look what happens. Salt Lake freaks.

One Tough Wonder Dog
Last night our worst fear happened. Scout was hit by a car. It happened across the street by Jamestown. He had ran in front of me and Sadie across the street, which he usually doesn't do. Then he came back across to us . A lady hit him broadside going about 25 mph. Luckily she didn't run over him. It knocked him about 20 feet to the side. It made the most horrific sound you could ever imagine. It was dark so the lady couldn't see him. She stopped, freaking out, my neighbor was walking her 2 dogs and saw the whole thing, she was freaking out, I was freaking out. I told the lady it wasn't her fault. Thank goodness Chloe wasn't there. After he was hit, he got up and ran over to me dazed and confused. A little blood from his heel, but no apparent broken bones. No limping. He was walking/running fine. I kept a close eye on him last night. This morning we went for our walk and he retrieved his bumpers like he does every morning, a little more sore than usual, but was running fine. The picture is from this morning. What dog gets hit by a 1000+ lb piece of metal going 25 mph and lives? A Wonder Dog. He does stay real close to me now on our walks, I wonder why?

*I was going through pictures and discovered every single picture has Monet in it. That's all we do these days!
...
Last Sunday was mine and Chloe's birthday. As you can see, Chloe is feeling cute and spunky and I am feeling horrible in my pajama's, on my birthday, hours away from checking into the hospital for gall bladder surgery. Gall bladder or not the party must go on... Sarah and 'almost here baby', grandma and Monet. P.S. Karl was very missed.

Riley, yes she's still asleep, in fact, she slept through the whole party.
