LEADVILLE 2009
On our way to Vail, Colorado.

On the deck of the house we rented (the Wolf knows how to treat his pit crew right.)

Eating lunch in the Vail Village.
Fueling up before the big race. Wyatt likes to hydrate with chicken wings.

Ice cream for the pit crew.

SATURDAY 6 AM - the boys at the Hotel Delaware.
STOP- Twin Lakes, about to climb Columbine.

Monet wishing him good luck up that big huge mountain.

Riley came just a few minutes after Larry. Wyatt, with his Euro biking hat, helping Ri change out of his freezing wet gloves.

This is the last these two saw of each other.

Riley was beat. A bad stomach and cold cold wet weather. He stopped to eat and get ready. We all sat nervously during the 3 hour climb.
Off he goes. Nice push off Woobers.

We waited and waited and waited. It feels like the top of the world up there. The weather changes in an instant. Hot and then rainy and then cold, and then warm...

Lance flew through the course. He is a freak of nature. I've never seen someone so fast.

These two were inseparable the whole trip. Monet was held 100% of the time, Chloe held her about 90% of that.

After Columbine, the face says it all. Hard. Cold. Windy. HARD.
Off to the next leg.
Riley back from Columbine. I think this picture says enough. (This wasn't even our stuff.)

YOU CAN DO IT! (that was my job, the pep girl).
I made Monet this Leadville tee shirt. She wore it proudly.

It says Team Wolf, Team Riley

FINISH - Wolf 11 hours 4 minutes

Monet trying to tell her grandpa good job.

Now waiting for Riley to come in.
Monet had had enough.
However, after a diaper change, a little food, and an outfit change she was back and ready to cheer for Riley.
She was exhausted.

But still Smiling.
...
FINISH - Riley 12 hours 30 min

A hug from mom.

He had this smirk on his face all day.

The riders.

The whole group.

This was the backyard of the house.
Horseshoes.

The 4 million dollar house we rented. (thanks dad).

Lunch.

Out to dinner our final night.

Vail isn't very stroller friendly. There was a lot of stair carrying.
Monet sporting her new hat and her new stuffed animal.
Lots of loves and hugs from her aunt and uncles.

...
Leadville was pretty amazing this year. To see Larry and Riley do it together was awesome. To have Monet there was very sweet. To have such a fun family vacation is wonderful.
...
Good job Riley and Larry
...
Can't wait for next year.
...
You now have 12 months to train.

Congrats to Riley and Larry! What an accomplishment. Those pictures are amazing Hayley, you all look fabulous as always. Monet is becoming quite the little traveler and pit crew member. I'm sure it helped to have so many willing volunteers to keep her happy. That hat...I can't bare it!

Looks like a great time. Congrats to Wolf and Riley, I would make it about 20 yards and collapse. Can't wait to see Monet in a few weeks.
